Madeleine L'Engle Camp (Nov 29, 1918 – Sep 6, 2007) was an American writer of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and young adult fiction. Her works include; A Wrinkle in Time and its sequels: A Wind in the Door, A Swiftly Tilting Planet, Many Waters and An Acceptable Time. Her works reflect both her Christian faith and her strong interest in modern science. She has authored more than 60 books. Her book Meet the Austins, an American Library Association Notable Children's Book of 1960, Her science fantasy classic A Wrinkle in Time was awarded the 1963 Newbery Medal. Her 1980 book A Ring of Endless Light won the Newbery Honor. Two companion novels, A Wind in the Door and A Swiftly Tilting Planet.
