In order to augment their food, carnivorous plants have evolved to capture and digest prey, unlike ordinary plants that depend on soil nutrients. These fascinating plants have evolved unique mechanisms to capture, devour, and process tiny animals, most often insects, allowing them to survive in soils deficient in nutrients.
