This book explores the history of alcohol and its role in cultures around the world before turning to discussion of some of the best-known cocktails in the modern repertoire. Additionally, special attention is given to drinks made famous by their association with a person or a place, such as the Martini with James Bond, the Cosmopolitan and Carrie Bradshaw or the Mint Julep with William Faulkner and the Kentucky Derby.
