The mystical fabric of fairy tales and myths, who doesn't love a rainbow? It's a spectacular broad stroke of vibrant colors splashed across a pallet of pale blue sky. Well, I can assure you there is one person doesn't love rainbows, at least not anymore. On the surface they may look harmless enough, but be forewarned, their beauty is only skin deep. Something sinister yet indefinable lurks within the floating multi-colored spectrum, and beckons the unsuspecting like a moth to a flame. Most just stare in awe and appreciate the spectral vision from a distance; they are the smart ones. But every so often some greedy dupe comes along and succumbs to the lure of the unknown, pressing his luck by venturing closer into a realm where wise men fear to tread. In this fifth episode of Tales of the Investigator, one Private Eye is foolish enough to tempt fate and it almost costs him his life. There is a reason that you can't ever reach the end of a rainbow. For your own protection, you're not supposed to. But as the saying goes, where there's a will there's a way. Unfortunately, there is another old adage, be careful what you wish for. Truer words were never spoken. A door has been opened that can't be shut and everything inside is headed this way. May God help us all! Less
