Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Horseback riding dates back thousands of years. For transportation, military use, or recreation, horseback riding has long been a well-respected and important talent. Today, horseback riding is primarily recreational with a thriving competitive circle. An internationally practiced sport, equestrianism has various schools of competition. The English and Western schools serve as the most common division, each comprised of various events. Jumping, Eventing, and Vaulting, though they may be included within a Western or English competition may also be considered independently of the two riding styles. Dressage, especially classical dressage, rounds out the list of equestrian showmanship sports. Project Webster represents a new publishing paradigm, allowing disparate content sources to be curated into cohesive, relevant, and informative books. To date, this content has been curated from Wikipedia articles and images under Creative Commons licensing, although as Project Webster continues to increase in scope and dimension, more licensed and public domain content is being added. We believe books such as this represent a new and exciting lexicon in the sharing of human knowledge. Less
