FannybawsWattie and Ony are into music. Wattie plays guitar and Ony keyboards. They are so good that they even manage to get a gig at the Green Festival. Unfortunately Davey and Buzz become involved, Davey on drums and Buzz on rythym guitar. As the group 'Fannybaws' their punk style rapidly gains them a viral online presence. Unfortunately the band suffers from a few internal conflicts, mainly because Davey is nuts and Buzz is jealous of Ony, who is his brother. At the Festival itself the band finally bow under the pressure of their mutual conflicts in a riotous, hugely funny finale. The Last Great Car Ride - The Stories'Car Ride' is a series of short stories about four friends called Wattie, Ony, Buzz and Davey. They are four enterprising young men who come from a somewhat deprived community in the South-West of Scotland. These stories are written in the Scots vernacular - think of a combination of Irvine Welsh and Willie McIllvanney - but with a sly humour that will have you laughing out loud. The author has an ear for the richness of the language and employs this to bring out the seperate characters of those involved. Despite various setbacks on their way - involving strange encounters, dodgy vans and cars, the malignant arm of the law, confiscated instruments, and evil ponies, these are four lads who always find a way to express themselves in the only way they know how - by living life as it presents itself in all its mad glory.
