Rob Mundle is an internationally bestselling author, journalist and competitive yachtsman whose own family heritage is with the sea, dating back to his great-great-grandfather who was the master of square riggers. For over forty years he has been able to combine his passion for sailing and boating with his career as a journalist and author. Rob has written ten books, including the bestselling FATAL STORM, reported on more than 30 Sydney to Hobart Races, covered seven America’s Cup challenges (including Australia’s historic 1983 win), four Olympics and numerous other major international events. A yachtsman in his own right, he is the winner of local, state and Australian sailing championships, and a competitor in many major local and international contests, including three Sydney to Hobarts. He has sailed everything from sailboards and 18-foot skiffs through to supermaxi yachts and large offshore multihulls. Rob has an intimate knowledge of the waters Bligh explored and traversed, having sailed the Solent, the English Channel, the Mediterranean, around Cape Horn, the northern waters of the Great Barrier Reef, Torres Strait, along the eastern archipelago of Indonesia, the West Indies, Fiji, New Caledonia, Hawaii, Cape Town, Tasmania, New Zealand, New Hebrides and Scandinavia - in Bligh’s wake.
