According to the authors, an instructional technologist is a professional who uses a systematic way of designing, carrying out, and evaluating the total process of teaching and learning. This work offers instructional designers a theoretical framework within which to apply system strategies, with chapters on the instructional design process, perception and visual literacy, learner analysis, layout and design, the Web, and e-learning.
