Each Volume provides a representative and diverse collection of cartoons focusing on a particular current or historical topic, as well as contextual information to help readers to understand and appreciate them. An introductory essay offers a general overview on the subject matter. Each cartoon is then presented with accompanying information including original publication data, facts about the cartoonist, and information and commentary on the cartoon itself. Finally, each volume contains additional research tools, including a bibliography and organization list for further research, an index and (for historical topics) a chronology of events.
