The books details the efforts the students made to resist the Japanese occupation of their country, including non-violent means such as distributing leaflets as well as violent means such as bombings of theaters, setting fire to supply warehouses, and carrying out assassinations of pro-Japanese Chinese. The students also worked diligently to change public opinion toward the Japanese.
