When King Charles Albert put together a collection of arms and armor, he did it with style.

Ranging back to medieval times, the objects this royal collected represented the best. Highly decorated pieces convey the history of Italy and beyond.

The collection includes the sword of San Maurizio, King Henry II’s parade shield, war armor and jousting armor, and a sword used by Napoleon. The displays are presented on life-size human and horse mannequins.

Now a modern artist considers what the items might mean. By manipulating photo angles and lighting while taking photos and afterward, and through captions, layers are added to an already impressive history.

Stand in awe of royal historical equiment and consider a new perspective with the artistic, full-color photos in Knights Through the Ages: Napoleon, the Kings of Italy, and an Emperor (a Travel Photo Art book).
