A contemporary story of a mother's enduring effort to rescue her displaced child, Little Girl Gone depicts the interruption of childhood innocence resulting from family issues rooted in control, deception and darkness. Through various twists and turns, a tale unfolds that reveals a child's undeserved fate and a mother's long quest to turn it around. Jana Baird Scowden is a young woman who gives birth to her second daughter, Rochelle Scowden, only to find their world turned upside down by unforeseen events. Jana's elder child, Destiny Baird, is eight years old at the time of Rochelle's birth. Jana's relationship with Rochelle's father, Keith Scowden, is rocky from the beginning, resulting in a divorce that plunges Jana into the complex lifestyle of a single mom. As Keith and his mother, Maureen Scowden, conspire to take Rochelle from her mother, a darker side of the story is revealed. Interwoven in the plot is the relationship between Jana and her best friend, Julie Allred, as well as the unexpected impact of Keith's new girlfriend, Meagan Bradford. Set in the heartland of America, Little Girl Gone portrays the early life of a victimized child and the perseverance of a loving mother. Less
