Christian Keferstein (born January 20, 1784 in Halle an der Saale , † August 26, 1866 ibid) was a German autodidactic educated mineralogist , ethnographer and geologist .After three years of successful law studies at the University of his hometown of Halle Christian Keferstein joined as a Auscultator [1] in the practical judicial service and took over during the French-Westphalian rule, the position of an Advocaten (Procureur du Tribunal). In a short time he acquired with his practice a considerable fortune, which later enabled him, even without a public position, to live his passion.
