Jason is a twelve-year-old competitive soccer player from Whitby, Ontario. The sudden death of his father rocks his world, and he becomes rebellious toward everything in life, especially God. Through an extraordinary sequence of events, he travels to Malawi, where there's a well for which his school is raising money. Before he leaves, Jason receives a series of peculiar emails, which leaves him more than a little spooked about his upcoming trip. Molly is a twelve-year-old girl eking out a living in a small village in southern Malawi. Both her parents have died of AIDS, and she is now struggling to take care of her younger brother and sister by herself.
