Dr. Rashid Pervez working as Principal Scientist at Division of Nematology, ICAR- Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) Pusa, New Delhi. He mainly is working on entomopathogenic nematodes (EPN). Dr. Pervez has been described six new species of EPN including two are heat tolerant. One new artificial media based on low cost and locally available ingredients has been synthesized for the mass production of the entomopathogenic nematodes. He served as Group Leader of Front Line Demonstration (FLD) of variety and technology developed by ICAR-IISR, Kozhikode in the farmer's fields. Dr. Rashid has been Principal Investigator and Co PI of the various Projects funded by ICAR, DST and Kerala govt. He guided several M. Sc. Students and Examiner of Ph. D. students. He published 89 research papers in reputed international and national journals, 3 books, 34 bulletins, 2 manual, 1 extension folder and 53 scientific popular articles. He has also attended several symposia and conferences and delivered lectures and present 58 research papers. He is recipient of Distinguished Scientist of the Year Award- 2017, Scientist of the Year Award- 2016, ICAR- Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Best Book Award - 2017 and 2015, SPPS Meritorious Scientist Award - 2015, Dr. Muthuswami Anandaraj Award - 2014, Dr. H. S. Mehta Memorial Award - 2013, Young Scientist Award - 2007, Young Scientist Associate Award - 2005, ICAR Best Participant Award - 2010, Best Oral Presentation Award (Three times), Best Poster Awards (Five times) and Fellow of Nematological Society of India and Society of Plant Protection Sciences. Dr. D. Prasad retired as Prof. and Head (Retd.), I.A.R.I., has more that 40 years of research and teaching experience in the field of nematology in particular and plant protection in general. He has published more than 246 research papers, 100 abstracts presented in symposia of national and international repute and 95 chapters in various books. Dr. Prasad is known for his research contributions in nematode management on groundnut and soybean and developed IPM nodule for root knot nematode on groundnut. He also worked on environmentally safe pesticides, developed and tested two new molecules for control of nematodes and hence patented, and received HARDF Award 1994, fellow of Several Societies won many prestigious award of Societies and Agril. Universities. Dr. Prasad has written/edited books namely Environment Pollution - Air, Water, Land, Radiation, Solid Waste, Thermal, Soil Environment & Pesticides, Potential IPM Tactics, Ecofriendly Pest Suppression, Crop Pest and Disease Management, Advances in Plant Protection Sciences, Crop Protection: Management Strategies, Sustainable Pests Management, Insect Pest and Disease Management, Sustainable Crop Protection Strategies (2 volumes) and Crop Protection, Conservation and Diversity (2 volumes) during the past few years. He founded the Society of Plant Protection Sciences in 1992 which publishes six monthly Journal Annals of Plant Protection Sciences".
