The old monk’s life was an ordinary one: he had a goat from which he obtained milk, he used to pick up different kind of fruits from the forest and also to bring water from a nearby river. As his strength got weaker and weaker, the old man felt discouraged. He would have desired to hear once again, just for a few moments, a voice of man before going to the Lord.
