Fairies and elves are not real . . .Or at least that's what 11-year-old Emmaline has always believed. But while visiting her grandmother for the summer, she captures a large, glowing insect with a net. Emmaline soon realizes that it's no insect at all! It's a bratty elf named Twilin, and now that Emmaline's Gift has come to light, she can see and hear Twilin-who complains incessantly. Twilin is far from happy about being captured. She's bound and determined to get back to her clan, but the EFF (Elf and Fairy Federation) have different plans. They think Twilin could benefit from a bit of time away. Soon, she and Emmaline find common ground and form a friendship neither have experienced before.But trouble is brewing for the elves and fairies, and it comes in the form of some rogue pixies who are out to steal all the firestones they can get their hands on.
