Weina Dai Randel is the award-winning author of three historical novels, The Last Rose of Shanghai, The Moon in the Palace, and The Empress of Bright Moon, historical novel series about Empress Wu (Wu Zetian), China's only female emperor.

Weina is the winner of the RWA RITA® Award, a finalist of the National Jewish Book Awards, a semi-finalist of Goodreads Choice Awards, and a nominee of the RT Book Reviewers Choice Award. Her debut novel was recommended by Texas Library Association’s 2017 Lariat Reading List and was a San Francisco Book Festival Honorable Mention. Her novels have been translated into 7 languages.

Weina's latest novel, Night Angels, a novel based on Dr. Ho, a Righteous Among the Nations, will be released in February 2023.

Born and raised in China, Weina came to the United States in her early twenties. She holds an M.A. in English from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas.
