The book 'The Raging Conflict Within' contains poems written to challenge readers who are struggling through their daily lives. These poems are just not for poetry but are special because Howard Bum believes they are all inspired by God, and have a purpose. That purpose is to show readers there is a better way to live their lives. Furthermore, that belief in God, having faith in Him and His word is the answer to a satisfying and everlasting life. Howard Bum believes if one life is saved by reading one, some, or all of the poems, the effort was worth it.
