G.J. Schaefer has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is the author of Professional Home Construction Management, which teaches readers how to save money as their own general contractors. He owns an engineering consulting business and is active in the Boy Scouts of America. Schaefer, who lost his wife to breast cancer, lives with his two sons in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Tom Bekkers, MSW, ACSW , is a licensed Psychotherapist/Advanced Practice Social Worker with over twenty year's experience in professional counseling relating to patients and family members faced with the challenges of health situations, lifestyle adjustments issues, death and grief. Bekkers holds a Master"s Degree from the University of Wisconsin. Since 1989 he has worked at St. Vincent's Hospital in Green Bay and he has been the facilitator of the "Understanding Grief" and "Taking Time" cancer support groups since 1990. He resides in Denmark, Wisconsin, with his wife and two daughters.
