Dr Helen Milroy is a descendant of the Palykupeople of the Pilbara region of Western Australia,but was born and educated in Perth. Australia’s firstIndigenous doctor, Helen studied medicine at theUniversity of Western Australia and is currentlyWinthrop Professor and Director of the Centre forAboriginal Medical and Dental Health at UWA, and aconsultant child and adolescent psychiatrist with the Specialist AboriginalMental Health Service, Department of Health. Helen was recentlyappointed as the AFL’s first indigenous commissioner. This is her first bookfor children.
