This is a short paper which was read to the Concord (Massachusetts) Antiquarian Society at the turn of the 20th century. This paper gives a brief biography of the British loyalist, Daniel Bliss, who wrote John Jack's famous epitaph regarding slavery and freedom prior to the outbreak of the American Revolution. Overall it is an interesting look at a British loyalist driven from his home at the start of the Revolution and his beliefs concerning the rights of all people. Less
