Adventures of a Rooseite introduces the reader to my memoirs as a young boy beginning at the age of five years old, growing up in a post war Britain in the 1950's. Moving home along with my parents and my younger brother, from the comfort and support of sharing life with my grand mother. I give the reader a glimpse of how life was back then and the friendships formed whilst growing up in the village of Roose which is situated on the outskirts of Barrow in Furness, North west, England. Following the introduction, the reader will be led into a collection of true adventures stories undertaken by a group of young friends. You will experience a deep bond of friendship which develops between them as they go about exploring the countryside where they live. In their daring world of danger, excitement and mischief. Their imaginations develop and take the reader on a journey into the unknown. I hope you smile a little, laugh a little and maybe relate some of these stories to your own childhood experiences whilst growing up. When writing this book my thoughts drifted back to our many adventures during the 1960's which reminded me of the movie Stand by me which follows the story of a group of friends embarking on an adventure and in many instances, highlights the comradeship in my own stories. I hope you enjoy my stories and I wish you well on life's journey. Less
