The present novel is the last book of the Logan Family story which had begun with “Song of the Trees.”The story revolves around the life of Paul-Edward Logan. He happens to be the son of a white man and a black woman. At the end of the main story, there are three entries in the book from Paul’s journal.The author has used the Southern dialect from 1870s and the 1880s.
