Mother America is a collection of short stories from one of Ireland's most talented writers, Nuala Ní Chonchúir. Written with pace and passion this collection explores motherhood, family, lonliness and isloation. Despite that, teh collection is shot through with hope, compassion and empathy. A review of three of the stories from Mother America can be read here: http://typistspen.com/mother-america/ Nuala Ní Chonchúir is a short story writer, novelist and poet, born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1970 and living in Galway. Her third poetry collection The Juno Charm was published by Salmon Poetry in 2011. Nuala's story 'Peach', in the Winter 2011 issue of Prairie Schooner, won the Jane Geske Award and was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Nuala has won many short fiction awards including RTÉ radio's Francis MacManus Award, the Cúirt New Writing Prize, the inaugural Jonathan Swift Award and the Cecil Day Lewis Award. She was shortlisted for the European Prize for Literature.
