Industrial crops are the plants that are cultivated to provide raw materials and value-added products for a diverse array of industries in the international trade. These plants are also natural hosts to numerous viruses. Some prime examples of viral pathogens adversely affecting the yield of industrial crops are PLRV and PVY in potato, SCMV, SCSMV and Fiji disease in sugarcane, and BNYVV and BYSV in sugar beet. The profitable production of industrial crops, thus, requires formulation and application of appropriate sustainable management strategies to contain plant yield losses due to viral infections. The present volume was conceived to pool the expert knowledge from the specialists around the world on such important commercial aspects of industrial crops.
