Several books and many papers have been written on the much discussed subject Applied Geomorphology and its evolution. One of the main consideration is that applied studies and the study of the processes in hand in geomorphology, because the understanding of processes is essential for explaining geomorphological phenomena. Applied geomorphology developed on this basis and now emnraces many fields of application. The earth’s surface forms are primarily due to hypogene or endogenous processes, which include diastrophism, leading to geologic structure, tectonic activity and volcanism leading to volcanic landforms. These forms are modified by epigene or exogenous processes, which include erosion and depositional activities of water, wind and ice. The content of the book conform to the specified syllabi of several universities and colleges. The book is carefully edited and structured as such that the presentation of the subject.
