embodies R and D work of the National Botanical Research Institute (formerly called National Botanic Gardens), Lucknow for a period of 25 years since its inception in 1953. The subjects covered in this Silver Jubilee publication, being published in two volumes, reflect the broad spectrum of plant science researches that have been pursued at the Institute. The First Volume contained papers dealing with 'Applied Morphology and Allied Subjects', covering 16 chapters, preceded by an Introductory article, entitled 'NBRI Through The Years', which gives a brief account of foundation, growth and organisation of the Institute. The subjects covered in this volume relate to plant improvement and utilisation covering cytogenetics of ornamentals, mutation breeding, agronomy including cultivation on usar land, and aspects of chemistry and utilisation of waste fruits and seeds, medicinal plants and gums. The two volumes together cover a wide spectrum of subjects ranging from botany, agriculture, forestry, agronomy, horticulture, to chemistry.
