Princess Annalise is in danger, but she doesn't realize how much. What starts off as a celebratory feast turns into an engagement party as Annalise's father, King Ebastalar of the Sacratus kingdom, promises her hand to the captain of his knights, Caballo. With her heart belonging to another, Annalise is determined to thwart the king's plans. In the process, she stumbles upon a much larger plot designed by her father's enemy, the Tenebris, to remove her from the kingdom.
