Doktorarbeit / Dissertation aus dem Jahr 2007 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 'prospela', , Veranstaltung: Philology, Germanic literatures, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Lucie Koutkova's text from 2007 studies the interaction of German and other languages in the novels of authors with migration background who chose to write in German. Analyses of novels by Libu?e Moníková, Herta Müller, Emine Sevgi Özdamar and Feridun Zaimoglu shows how the languages and their foreign graphic and phonetic components work against the expectations of the reader and allow to see the foreign or alien in new perspectives. The study compares the notion of German literature of migrants (Migrationsliteratur) to literature of immigrant workers (Gastarbeiterliteratur) and literature of exile (German Exilliteratur). In an excursus it discusses the link of literature of migrants with littérature engagée.
