Jess Fraser was a battered wife, and after four years of running from her abusive and violent ex-husband she has finally settled down in Oconee, South Carolina and taken a chance on a new life and the handsome artist, Dan Nightshade. As the days flow by, Jess finds freedom and passion in Dan’s arms. Having found friends, work and a home, she feels happy and safe for the first time in years. Her ex-husband, however, isn’t ready to let her go. When he finds her again, Jess must decide whether to return to her years on the road or to stay and fight for the new life she has begun.
